Stephens College student Olivia Catt ’20 recently received a $1,000 fashion merchandising/marketing/management scholarship from the Fashion Group International of Saint Louis. She and her fellow scholarship winners presented their work at a style and scholarship event on Nov. 27 in St. Louis.

Stephens College has named Gina Sholtis to the position of interim vice president for institutional advancement, effective Dec. 1. Sholtis comes to Stephens after a successful and extensive career in higher education institutional advancement, including leadership roles at Saint Louis University, Washington University, the University of Missouri and Marquette University in Milwaukee.

The work of Associate Professor Chase Thompson is part of a new photography exhibit at Boone County History and Culture Center. The series of photographs, titled Divided By Time: Columbia, Missouri 1907-2017, is on showcase now through January 27 at the Montminy Art Gallery.

Stephens College saddle seat students earned several top ribbons at the UPHA American Royal National Championship Horse Show, which was held from Nov. 5-10 in Kansas City, Mo. Kelsey Haney ’19, riding Harlem’s Heirospace, won the Three-Gaited Missouri/Kansas Amateur qualifier and the championship. In addition, Madeleine Oliver ’22, riding The King’s Lady Anne, finished as Reserve Champion in both events behind Haney, and Mallory Stacy ’19, riding Tango Till Dawn, was Reserve Champion in a 15 horse Missouri/Kansas Three-Gaited Show Pleasure Championship.
