For two weeks in June, young riders converged on the Stephens College Equestrian Center, one of Columbia’s notable historic properties, for the College’s annual Summer Riding program. Campers learned the basics of riding, horse care and safety from Stephens equestrian program faculty with assistance from current students.

Burrell Behavioral Health and Stephens College signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Friday, May 31, 2019, as a first step toward an innovative co-branded partnership focused on developing highly qualified behavioral and mental health professionals to serve mid-Missouri.


Columbia rises to No. 6 best place to live in U.S.

Columbia, Missouri (the home of Stephens College), has been named No. 6 on the 2019 “Top 100 Best Places to Live” list. The Top 10 nationwide accolade for the city — aka CoMo and College Town, U.S.A. — comes following a No. 21 ranking last year.

On May 10, the official Stephens College Class of 2019 photo (shown above) was taken during rehearsal for the Undergraduate Commencement ceremony, which took place the next day on Stephens’ Historic Quadrangle for the first time in decades. The Graduate & Online Commencement ceremony was held in the Kimball Ballroom of Lela Raney Wood Hall on May 10 as well. Over 130 degrees were awarded during the two ceremonies on May 10-11.
