Sony Pictures visual effects producer Michaela Dehning ’08 will return to Stephens next week as a guest of the Citizen Jane Masterclass series. The lecture begins at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Charter Lecture Hall in Helis Communication Center on the Stephens College campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Aurola Wedman Alfaro ’20 takes women’s leadership seriously. Dr. Rakesh Singh joined the Stephens College faculty this fall as assistant professor of pharmacology in the School of Health Sciences. Singh taught previously at the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine, the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Kansas.

Stephens College has announced fall campus visit dates for prospective students and their families to explore firsthand what the College has to offer. Dr. Susan L. Foster ’06 B.S., ’10 M.B.A. joined the Stephens faculty this fall as Health Information Management Director. Foster has worked for more than 25 years in health informatics and information management and higher education, serving as director of health information management at Missouri Western State University and Crowder College. She also is a Registered Health Information Administrator, is certified in healthcare privacy and security and has experience as a privacy officer.

The Stephens College community came together on Thursday, Aug. 29, for Academic Opening Convocation in Lela Raney Wood Hall. Stephens marked the beginning of a new academic year by looking back on her history and contemplating the Ten Ideals through the perspectives of 10 students, alumnae, faculty and staff who were selected to relate stories about each Ideal.

Broadway actor Jennifer Hemphill has joined the Stephens College faculty this fall as assistant professor of musical theatre and coordinator of musical theatre. She will direct, choreograph and star in Stephens’ production of the hit ABBA show “Mamma Mia!” in September. Tickets are on sale starting today, Aug. 30.
