Stephens College alumna and actress
Annie Potts is on campus to rehearse for "A Little Night Music"
with students and faculty. A Broadway masterpiece, “Music”
is a romantic achingly beautiful musical that deals with the universal
subject of love in all its wondrous, humorous and ironic transformations.
Potts will play the part of “Desiree” in the play, which
runs Dec. 5-6, 10-13 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. in the Macklanburg
Playhouse, 100 Willis Ave. Admission is $10 general and $5 for students

in numerous productions. |
While on campus, Potts, who received a bachelor
of fine arts degree in theatre at Stephens College, also is expected
to hold a master class for theatre students, attend various College
functions and be available for media interviews. She last visited
the College in 1995 when she gave the keynote address at the May
Commencement and starred in “Love Letters.” The same
year she received the Alumnae Achievement Award from Stephens.
Potts, one of Hollywood’s most
versatile actresses, has acted in numerous television, film and
theatre productions, including the following:

- Lifetime's "Any Day Now" (1998-2002) played "Mary Elizabeth Sims." Potts received a Screen Actors Guild nomination for “Best Actress in a Television Series” in 1999 and 2000.

- "Love & War" (1993-1995), received a 1994 Emmy Award nomination for “Best Actress in a Comedy” for her performance as a gourmet chef Dana Palladino.
