The Stephens College School of Design announces it will showcase its Stephens Seniors Class of 2020 with Instagram Live sessions, beginning this Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at 6 p.m. CST. The one-on-one virtual interview sessions are the School of Design’s innovative response to cancelling The Collections: 76th Annual Student Designer Fashion Show, which was to have been held on April 18, due to the coronavirus.

“When we had to cancel the fashion show, we identified this time as a moment of adaptation and innovation,” said fashion program chair Stephanie Carlo. “As creative problem-solvers, our School of Design faculty worked hard to develop an innovative way in which to spotlight our students’ work.

“We’re excited to be hosting these live conversations with our most amazing and creative seniors who will talk about life at Stephens, their capstone projects and much more.”

The series, which will be hosted by Carlo, will feature fashion design students, who will have the opportunity to showcase their senior collections that would have been debuted at the fashion show. Carlo will also talk to event and convention management, strategic communications, and fashion marketing students enrolled in Stephens’ Fashion Show Production class about what it’s like to plan and promote a fashion show.

The series will continue each Tuesday and Thursday through the remainder of the spring semester.
