The Stephens College Counseling Center offers free, confidential, individual counseling sessions to all undergraduate students and full-time graduate students*.

Counseling services are provided by licensed mental health professionals and advanced graduate students in the Stephens College M.Ed. in Counseling (i.e., counselors-in-training).

For emergencies, please contact 911.

*Full-time students of the M.Ed. in Counseling should contact the Counseling Program Director prior to requesting an appointment at the Counseling Center.


Session Types

The Counseling Center offers face-to-face and telehealth counseling sessions.


Spring 2022 Hours of Operation

Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-5 p.m. (last sessions begin at 4 p.m.)

Counseling sessions at the Counseling Center are only offered through teletherapy (online) through Friday, Jan. 21, and may be extended based on Stephens College COVID-19 policy.

Beginning Monday, Jan. 24, students can choose online (teletherapy) or in-person sessions at the Counseling Center on campus.

The Counseling Center will be closed during spring break, March 28-April 3. Spring 2022 hours of operation will continue through Friday, May 6.


Counseling Center COVID-19 Policy

The College Counseling Center strictly follows all current Stephens College COVID-19 policiesStudents who choose face-to-face counseling sessions are required to wear a mask at all times — along with the counselor — while in the Counseling Center building, including during their counseling session. Students who violate Stephens College COVID mandates may forfeit the right to continue receiving counseling services at the Counseling Center for a period to be determined by the Counseling Center Director and Stephens College senior administration.


How to Schedule a Counseling Appointment

  1. Access the Counseling Center Initial Intake Form > 
    You must sign in with your official Stephens College email account to access the form. Please contact the Counseling Center at [email protected] with any issues or concerns.
  2. Complete all required questions on the intake form and submit to [email protected] Please provide as much flexibility on your availability as possible to increase your options for being seen more quickly by a counselor.
  3. Counseling Center Staff will respond with an appointment and time, along with instructions for the first appointment. Appointments will often be sent via “Supervision Assist.” When working with the Counseling Center, it is important to check your junk email folder to ensure you are not missing a communication from the center or your your counselor/counselor-in-training.
