Closing out a historic season, the Stars bowed out during the Second Round of the NAIA Women's Basketball Championship Tournament.

For the first time in program history, the Stephens College Stars Basketball team traveled to Indianapolis to play in the NAIA Women's Basketball Championship First and Second Round, presented by Ballogy.

Going into the Second Round ranked No. 9 in the Naismith Quadrant, the Stars took on the No. 1 Marian University (Ind.) Knights Saturday evening at Marian University. Despite a valiant effort, they lost 49-63, bringing a bittersweet end to their historic season with an overall record of 23-8.

"Our journey doesn't end here. It's a stepping stone for greater achievements next season. We've grown from this experience, and only plan to come back stronger and more determined than ever before," Head Coach Andre Bell said about the season. "We are grateful to the Board Members and our President for making this all possible. Hopefully, the rest of the basketball world knows who [we are] and where Stephens Stars Basketball resides."
