Stephens College's basketball team has secured the American Midwest Conference (AMC) regular season championship.

The Stars' journey to the championship was marked by a series of commanding performances, culminating in a resounding 100-52 victory over Harris-Stowe State University.

The win underscored the team's dominance throughout the season, finishing with a 21-6 overall record (16-2 AMC). Aushara Hostetler led the scoring charge with 22 points, demonstrating precision from the free-throw line at 100% (5-5). Alayasia Douglas, Chu Crockett, Mia Morel, and Arthel Massaquoi also made significant contributions, each scoring in double digits.

From the opening tip-off, Stephens College asserted its dominance, took an early lead and never looked back. After building the early lead in the first quarter (26-11), the Stars overpowered the Hornets in the second half outscoring them 27-9.

At the end of the third, Douglas made a buzzer-beater three-pointer, pushing the Stars further into a 42-point lead. The Stars put up a united front ending the game 100-52.

The Stars anticipate the AMC conference tournament starting March 1st where they will head into the weekend in first place.
