Andre Bell has been named the new Stephens College athletic director, President Dianne Lynch announced Monday.

Bell will continue to serve as head basketball coach.

Stephens College Athletics is on an upward trajectory, thanks in part to the culture change that has taken place during Coach Bell’s time leading the basketball program,” said President Dianne Lynch in a press release Tuesday. “I am confident his leadership will continue to elevate the department’s profile and performance.”

Since joining Stephens in 2021, Bell has led the Stars to their most successful record in school history. That includes beating Columbia College in 2022 and playing several preseason games NCAA Division I teams, including an ESPN-televised scrimmage last year. Before Stephens, he served as an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech University. He was also an associated head coach and recruiting coordinator at Moberly Area Community College. Bell has extensive experience recruiting across the state of Missouri.

"I would like to thank President Lynch for offering me this opportunity," Bell said. I look forward to working with our student-athletes, coaches, staff, supporters, and fans to continue to expand and improve upon our tradition of ethical, disciplined and competitive athletics."
