Alumna Jill Schlude '15 has been named Columbia's next police chief.
Stephens alumna Jill Schlude '15 is the first woman to hold the position of Columbia's police chief. Her new role was announced today during a 2 p.m. press conference at city hall, and her duties will officially begin on Dec. 3.
“I'm humbled by the trust placed in me by the city leadership, our department and the community,” said Schlude at the press conference, who has been the department's assistant chief till now.
