Beautiful red brick buildings stand proud on a campus that's been at the heart of Columbia, Missouri, since 1833. Inside are modern spaces filled with all of the amenities you need for living and learning.
No matter your major, you'll find modern work spaces from high-tech computer labs, fashion and design labs and science labs to collaborative spaces with moving tables designed for small group work.
Our Education majors work in remodeled lab school classrooms at The Children's School at Stephens College, located right on campus. Those in the Performing Arts have two theatre spaces (the Macklanburg Playhouse and the Warehouse Theatre), new dance classrooms and music and vocal arts classrooms complete with new pianos.
Our equestrian center is located steps from campus and occupies 16 acres on the Stephens campus and boards approximately 40 horses. The facility comprises two barns with a total of 61 stalls, the Saddleseat/Western barn (built in 1939) and the Hunter/Dressage barn (built in 1952); an indoor arena; a lighted outdoor arena; seven turn-out paddocks and a cross-country course.
Our Pillsbury Science Center has recently been remodeled, and a new Center for Health Sciences opened in August 2016 to welcome the M.P.A. program.
Stamper Commons is the hub of campus life at Stephens. The Student Union is the place for foosball, Ping-Pong, pool or a workout in our on-campus fitness room. Stamper also includes our dining hall, our bookstore, Internet radio station, and spaces for clubs and organizations. Silverthorne Arena is home to the Stephens Stars basketball and volleyball teams (two of our eight athletics programs).
At Stephens College, there's something for everyone. We have two residence hall quads and lots of choices for living spaces. Apartment style, suite style, single rooms, traditional shared bathrooms (cleaned for you!) and private baths are all available. We have rooms and floors that are pet-friendly but we also have residence halls reserved as pet-free. And all halls include free laundry facilities, shared spaces for socializing and programming, and round-the-clock security and facilities assistance.
