On Feb. 1, Stephens College held a grand opening for the Black Cultural Resource Center (BCRC), located on the second floor of the Hugh Stephens Library. The BCRC, which opened last semester, serves as a resource center for information on black culture. It features a book collection of over 130 books and also offers comfortable seating for studying and meetings.

Columbia is the best city in Missouri to live in, according to Business Insider. The publication recently identified the best place to live in each state. Columbia – aka CoMo and College Town, U.S.A. – was described as “a charming college town that has good food, great public schools, diverse residents, and an excellent public transportation system.”

When Brianna Bunker began looking at colleges, she searched for a small school in a hip university town that also offered her major, digital filmmaking. Her dad found Stephens College, which had an added bonus in his eyes: it’s a women’s college. Today, Daryl and Sarah Bunker of Lumberton, Texas, are visiting their daughter during Welcome Home Family & Friends Weekend at Stephens. Though she’s only a couple months into her freshman year, Brianna Bunker couldn’t be happier – and neither could her parents.

Hollywood star Joan Crawford and costume designer Adrian Adolph Greenberg were the dynamic fashion duo of the 1930s and 1940s. Greenberg, who was known simply as “Adrian” in the fashion world, helped create Crawford’s signature broad-shouldered look, a design crafted to conceal the actress’s naturally broad shoulders.

October is esports month at Stephens College, and the games begin today with a match against Kansas Wesleyan University. The competition in Overwatch will be aired at 6 p.m. on the big TV in the Student Union of Stamper Common. The event kicks off a month of events.
