Burrell Behavioral Health and Stephens College sign agreement for on-campus behavioral health services

Burrell Behavioral Health and Stephens College have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will allow Burrell psychologists to provide on-campus counseling services to Stephens students, which Stephens will provide free of charge as an investment by the school in their students’ mental health.

Dr. Noreen Houck joined the School of Health Sciences faculty this fall as the founding director of nursing at Stephens College. She served previously as associate professor and chair of the nursing department at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh.

From Oct. 17-18, Stephens College welcomed the Missouri chapter of HOSA-Future Healthcare Professionals for its annual student leadership conference. More than 300 high school students and their advisers attended the event, which drew students from all around the state.

On Oct. 16, Brandon Maxwell, a 2019 Project Runway judge and 2019 Council of Fashion Designers of America Womenswear Designer of the Year, visited the Stephens College campus as part of the Jeannene Booher Fashion Lecture Series.

Stephens low-residency M.F.A. program expands leadership

The Stephens College M.F.A. in Television and Screenwriting, established in 2014, has named Dr. Rosanne Welch as the new executive director. Program founder and former director Ken LaZebnik will serve as Writer-in-Residence, while Khanisha Foster ’17, a graduate of the M.F.A. program, will serve as associate director. The program also features 15 faculty mentors and a rotating group of guest lecturers, all working writers, members of the Writers Guild and successful industry professionals.

Jeannene Booher Fashion Lecture Series to host Brandon Maxwell at Stephens College

The Stephens College School of Design will host Brandon Maxwell, an American fashion designer, television personality, director and photographer, as the next speaker in the Jeannene Booher Fashion Lecture Series. The presentation begins at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Kimball Ballroom of Lela Raney Wood Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
