Nicole Bidwell ’21, Jessica Gayo ’19, Aurola Wedman Alfaro ’20 and Caila Parks ’21 stepped into the 83rd annual Fashion Scholarship Fund Awards Gala in New York City last Tuesday, and paused for a moment to take it all in. Everywhere they looked, there were giants of the fashion industry — designers and company leaders they had studied and even dreamed of becoming.

Students in the School of Creative and Performing Arts gave inspiring performances during Bach's Lunch on Oct. 31 at Historic Senior Hall Recital Hall. Soloists and ensembles performed a variety of musical theatre, vocal jazz, classical and choral works. Free and open to the public, Bach's Lunch will take place throughout the academic year at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 21, March 19 and April 30.

Undergraduate student recognized for outstanding research in sports medicine

Carissa Stevens ’21 was one of two undergraduate finalists for the Outstanding Research Award at the Central States Annual Meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine. Stevens presented her research on Oct. 24-25 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Broadway star directs ‘Mamma Mia!’ production

Stephens College theatre students had the unique opportunity to work with Broadway actor Jennifer Hemphill for the Playhouse Company production of “Mamma Mia!” in September. Hemphill, who is an assistant professor of musical theatre and coordinator of musical theatre at Stephens, directed, choreographed and acted in the hit musical.

Stephens students earn ribbons at St. Louis National Charity Horse Show

Stephens College Equestrian Studies program students had the opportunity to compete against horses from around the United States in the St. Louis National Charity Horse Show from Sept. 25-28 at the National Equestrian Center in Lake St. Louis, Missouri.
