Harbinger literary journal earns sixth international “Outstanding” title

The 2018 issue of Harbinger, Stephens’ student-run literary journal, recently was named Outstanding Literary Arts Journal by Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society. This is the sixth win in nine years for the journal, which was honored for its latest win at the society’s 2019 convention in March.

On April 12, Stephens College hosted its traditional Crossing the Bridge ceremony, where Stephens alumnae welcomed the graduating Class of 2019 into the 20,000 strong Stephens College Alumnae Association. Stephens seniors crossed the Broadway and College Avenue bridges, symbolizing their soon-to-be departure from campus and entry into the world beyond Stephens.

Three student films will be shown at this year’s True/False Film Festival Gimme Truth! competition

The True/False Film Festival will feature the work of four Stephens students as part of the Saturday night event, Gimme Truth!. Billed by the international festival as “America’s favorite documentary game show,” Gimme Truth! challenges the audience and a panel of contestants to determine the “truthiness” of two-minute documentaries.

Three Stephens College School of Creative and Performing Arts students, Sarah Martin ’19, Erika Martinez ’19 and Hope Pena ’19, attended the Citizens for the Arts Day on Feb. 6 at the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City, Mo. This year marked the fourth time the School of Creative and Performing Arts participated in the event that is annually hosted by Missouri Citizens for the Arts (MCA).
