Alyssa Tinker will enter her first season as head esports coach for Stephens College this fall, taking over the team founded in 2017 as the first varsity esports team at a women’s college.

Students also started getting acclimated to campus at a “Navigate Your Way” informational event that included tables staffed by the Student Success Center, Financial Aid, Study Abroad and more.

On Aug. 12, Stephens College welcomed to campus 41 student-athletes from three sports (cross country, soccer and volleyball). Stars coaches and returning student-athletes helped 21 newcomers move in to the residence halls ahead of the start of preseason camps. New Student Move-In Day is Aug. 16, which is followed by three more days of orientation. Returning students arrive on campus on Aug. 18 with classes beginning on Aug. 20.

For two weeks in June, young riders converged on the Stephens College Equestrian Center, one of Columbia’s notable historic properties, for the College’s annual Summer Riding program.
