Dr. Dianne Lynch, president of Stephens College, has launched a blog titled “While You’re Away,” to help keep students, faculty and staff, as well as its network of alumnae, connected during these uncertain times. The College has taught all classes online since March 18 and will continue in this format the remainder of the spring semester due to the coronavirus.

“It’s more important than ever that we reach out and connect,” wrote Lynch in a College email announcing her blog in early April. “That we find ways to laugh, to celebrate, and to share our experiences, our insights, and our magic (or even sad and scary) moments.

That’s why I started a blog — a gathering place for everybody and everything Stephens, designed to sustain and entertain. And to keep us connected.”

The blog features quick reads covering everything from innovative online academic programming and the creative work of Stephens students to campus photos.

Frances Dare ’82 is among those in the Stephens community who appreciates and enjoys the blog. On Instagram, she posted:

“I hope reading it for a few minutes every day is a happy reminder that you are Stephens,” Lynch wrote. “That we all are Stephens. And that it just feels good to be in touch.”
