Stephens College announces that its annual Honors Convocation, held each spring in April, will be held as planned on Friday, April 17, 2020, only it will be delivered in a video format. The Stephens tradition honors students, faculty and staff who have demonstrated the highest levels of excellence.

At 3 p.m. — the originally scheduled time for convocation — the College will make live its Honors Convocation 2020 Ceremony and Awards Video at stephens.edu/convocation. The video will feature previously recorded award presentations given by members of the Stephens community, including Dr. Dianne Lynch, president of Stephens College; Dr. Leslie Willey, vice president for academic affairs; and esteemed faculty members. An electronic program, with award recipient names listed, will also be available online.

“It’s more important than ever, during these extraordinary times, to continue the tradition of Honors Convocation at Stephens College,” Willey said. “Although we can’t gather together in person as we would all like to be doing, we can still celebrate the remarkable achievements and accomplishments of our students, faculty and staff.

“We’re very excited that because of convocation’s online format this year that even more of our community — students’ parents and Stephens alumnae — can join with us and celebrate.”

Stephens classes are being delivered online for the reminder of the spring semester, and campus is currently closed, due to coronavirus concerns. For more information on Stephens’ response to the coronavirus, visit the Stephens Alert web page
