Stephens College has named an interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

Stephens College has announced that Shannon Walls has been named interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement. She replaces Gina Sholtis, who is departing in February to pursue a leadership role at the University of Central Florida.

Walls has served as the College’s Title IX coordinator, special assistant to the president, and staff liaison for the Trusteeship Committee for the Stephens College Board of Trustees. She served in the Advancement and Philanthropy office from 1995-2015, including as Vice President of Advancement from 2013-2015. Walls currently leads the College’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

"Shannon is a proven leader and, as an alumna, cares deeply about the success of this institution," said Dr. Dianne Lynch, president of Stephens College.

Walls earned a B.F.A. in Theatre Arts from Stephens and began working at the College in 1995.

Sholtis joined the College in 2018. In addition to leading Institutional Advancement from 2020 to 2021, she served as Vice President of the Office of Engagement. This temporary business unit oversaw Advancement, Enrollment, Financial Aid, and Marketing during COVID. The team built an engagement framework through her leadership, increased outreach, stabilized enrollment, and secured financial and fundraising resources to position Stephens for the future.

“During her time with Stephens College, Gina provided crucial fundraising, engagement, and recruiting leadership,” said Dr. Lynch. “She is a leader we could count on to step up and help out regardless of circumstance. This institution will forever be grateful for her impact and contributions.”
