Several of her fellow students in the Stephens College Musical Theatre program made it to the semi-final round of the Musical Theatre Intensive Competition: Kaitlyn Grace Smith '23Hannah Breshears '21Shanti Clark '21Sophie Sarnacki '22Allison Belsan '22Raegan Grisolano '23 and Ella Witt '21

"Auditioning for KCACTF was definitely a process," Ives said. "There are multiple rounds, so the other students and I had to make sure we submitted our self-tape videos as soon as possible. Jennifer Hemphill [assistant professor and chair of Musical Theatre and Acting] helped each of us separately while filming, and gave us live feedback in order to make sure we were doing the best work that we could."

"Rachel is an excellent student and will thrive at the Open Jar Intensive," Hemphill said. "I am thrilled that she will have the opportunity to work with so many Broadway veterans and industry professionals. The learning opportunities will be limitless and invaluable.”
