“Pride and Prejudice,” Jane Austen’s timeless love story, will come to life on the Stephens stage this week as a romantic comedy for all ages.

Performances take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6-8, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, at Macklanburg Playhouse, 100 Willis Ave.

Adapted for the stage by Jon Jory and directed by Timo Aker, assistant professor of theatre, the production will feature professional actors from Chicago and Columbia performing alongside students of Stephens’ top-ten nationally ranked theatre program.

“This fun and heartfelt adaptation is fabulously brought to life by our professional actors and students, who have done a wonderful job of challenging each other to bring their A game,” Aker said.

The production is sponsored by Central Bank of Boone County, Columbia Marketing Group, Joe Machens Dealerships, KFRU 1400 AM and Missouri Realtors.

Tickets are $16 general admission and $10 for students and seniors. Group rates are available. To purchase, contact the Stephens College box office at (573) 876-7199 or [email protected], or visit stephens.edu/services/box-office/tickets/.
