As classes at Stephens College have moved to online delivery, so too have the services that students use to succeed in their coursework.

“Students rely on the library, career services, tutoring services and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodation services as part of their academic experience, so of course those services are now available to our students remotely,” said Dr. Leslie Willey, vice president for academic affairs. “Each and every one of the directors and employees of those services is ready to help students with remote solutions to all of their academic needs.”

The library has developed a range of services to help students with their projects, according to Library Director Dan Kammer. Information on how to access those services electronically is available on our library resource page

The Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) provides not only career services to students and alumnae but directs the college-to-career program that is a non-credit graduation requirement. All of those services continue to be accessible online. For example, this week’s scheduled mock interviews were adjusted to online interviews.

“Our students interview for jobs around the world so online interviewing is a critical and translatable skills,” Willey said.

The Student Success Center (SSC), which includes ADA compliance and accommodation services, also remains fully operational for all students. Information on how to access these services is available on the center's services page

Students are primarily reaching out for ADA concerns; academic coaching; and writing, science and math tutoring, noted Sady Mayer Strand, the center’s director.

All students are strongly encouraged to reach out to the SSC especially if studying remotely is causing them concerns, Willey said. Social media reminders (pictured above) and special resources pages are being used to highlight and promote these services.

“We are here for our students — always,” she said. “We are so proud of the team of employees working to ensure the success of our students, from our faculty to our academic support services teams. Students are always number one here.”
