Assistant Professor Education -Tenure Track
School of Interdisciplinary Studies
The School of Interdisciplinary Studies promotes learning across disciplines. Emphasizing the role of both theory and practice, students are asked to consider situations through multiple perspectives as they learn in class and through real world experiences.
Responsibilities: Teaching, advising and service to the college; Teaching responsibilities include early childhood and elementary teaching methods courses, educational theory courses and supervision of practicum students and student teachers. Candidate must have knowledge of teacher certification and program assessment. Specific course assignment is dependent on qualifications.
Required qualifications: Doctorate in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Curriculum and Instruction; minimum three years teaching experience in Pre-K – grade 6; experience in teaching higher education; knowledge of teacher certification.
Preferred qualifications: At least five years teaching Pre-K – grade 6; experience supervising and teaching preservice teachers; experience in providing professional development to teachers.
