Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting

As fun as it sounds! A night of stage combat at its best. Free and open to the public. [PG-13]

Master Fight Director and returning guest artist John Wilson is directing this wildly entertaining evening of theatre featuring the art of stage combat. Wilson is a professional director, actor, educator and a much-in-demand professional Fight Director, whose fight choreography has been recently enjoyed in productions at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, and the Denver Theatre Center, among others. In addition to his ongoing professional theatre work, he also serves, as Chair of Theatre Arts and Dance at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg.

The brilliant, internationally acclaimed physical theatre company, Blessed Unrest, fresh off their Off-Broadway triumph, returns to Stephens College!

New York-based, husband and wife team of Jessica Burr and Matt Opatrny, founding co-artistic directors of Blessed Unrest, will awaken students to the exciting, physical theatre techniques known as ViewPoints, and will guide the STI Company toward the creation of a breathtakingly original, devised theatre performance piece. Their work breaks traditional theatre boundaries, creating new forms of story telling that are unforgettable. For their body of work, Blessed Unrest was recently honored with the prestigious Lucille Lortel Theatre Innovation Award.
