The Mystery of Edwin Drood

(Performing Arts - Theatre)

Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Macklanburg Playhouse

By Rupert Holmes
[Musical, PG-13 for Adult Themes]
7:30 p.m., April, 28-29; 2 p.m. Sunday matinee, April 30

A musical whodunit where the audience determines the ending. This hilarious musical is loosely based on Charles Dickens’ famous unfinished novel. Presented as a “first night performance by The Music Hall Royale,” a troupe of decidedly hammy Victorian actors challenges the audience to vote directly to affect the play’s outcome. The audience votes for whomever they think murdered the unfortunate young Edwin Drood. Well-known musical numbers include “There You Are,” “Moonfall” and “Off to the Races.”

The Collections Fashion Show

(Community)

Time: 2, 4:30 and 7 p.m.
Location: Windsor Auditorium

The Collections has been a successful event since 1944 and often sells out before the day of the shows.

Stephens College fashion design students work throughout the school year to turn concepts into designs, and those designs into garments. Junior and senior designers create garments for a range of categories including creative denim, weekend wear, contemporary sportswear and tailored designs.

The Jury of Selection consists of a panel of industry leaders and business professionals who are responsible for selecting the highest quality, most innovative pieces to be highlighted in the fashion show, as well as selecting student winners in each category. Past jurors have included supermodel Karlie Kloss and Brianne Ratliff ’03 from Armani Exchange.

Fashion Marketing and Management, Fashion Communication, and Apparel Studies students are responsible for planning all details of the event, from the lighting and music down to hair and make-up.

Ticket pricing is $10 children/students, $20 general admission and $40 VIP. VIP tickets include a light reception, goodie bag and premier seating. Order tickets online now.
