Transferring into the Health Information Administration program

We make it easy to take the next step on your path.

Transferring Existing Credit

Stephens College is committed to being a transfer-friendly college. We work one-on-one to ensure a seamless transition into our HIA program. We work closely with transfer students to evaluate credits, ensuring students are able to transfer the maximum credit hours.

Please note that students must:

  • Complete 36 credit hours of upper level coursework (300 level & higher) at Stephens College in order to obtain their bachelor degree from the institution.
  • Have completed all course work transferred in with a grade of C or higher.

Preliminary Degree Plan

If you would like to know how your credit would transfer before you apply, submit unofficial transcripts for a preliminary evaluation. Our recruitment coordinator will be happy to work with you to get all materials needed to perform the preliminary evaluation.

Be sure to send unofficial transcripts from each individual school for which you have earned credit. Please note that this is a pre-evaluation. Final evaluations will be completed once all official transcripts have been received and application into the program has been officially approved.

Articulation Agreements

For students interested in a baccalaureate degree in Health Information Administration, Stephens provides articulation agreements with numerous community and state colleges. An articulation agreement helps to simplify the transfer process for students by providing a list of courses that can be taken at both institutions to satisfy degree requirements at both places.

Stephens has articulation agreements with the following institutions:

At this time, Stephens College continues to work with individual institutions to coordinate articulation agreements; if you have questions regarding transfer coursework, please contact the Office of Admissions at [email protected] or (573) 876-7207.

Please note that transfer scholarships reserved for residential undergraduate programs do not apply to students in the HIA program.
