MoHIMA Spring Scholarship

The Missouri Health Information Management Association (MoHIMA) offers annual spring scholarship opportunities to students who are currently enrolled at Stephens College in the BS-HIA program and who are AHIMA/MoHIMA members.

AHIMA Foundation Merit Scholarships

The AHIMA Foundation annually offers merit scholarships to outstanding HIM professionals in an academic area related to health information. AHIMA Foundation also offers scholarship opportunities to veterans pursuing an education in health information.

Federal Financial Aid

You may qualify for the same kinds of federal financial aid and loans used by traditional in-seat undergraduate students. Note, however, that if you have already taken advantage of these programs in the past, your aid may be limited. The choice of pursuing your HIA degree as a part- or full-time student will also impact your financial aid package.

 

How to Apply

To determine the amount of financial aid you are eligible to receive, please submit your FAFSA (Stephens Code: 002512) at FAFSA.gov.

You may check federal loan eligibility at studentaid.gov using your FAFSA ID and password. Please note students seeking the Post-Baaccalaureate Certificate are not eligible to use any federal funding; however, these students may seek private loans.

Should I Apply for Financial Aid?

Although you don’t have to be accepted at Stephens College before applying for financial aid, you do have to be admitted to Stephens before any financial aid can be awarded. You will be required to file a FAFSA each year you are a student at Stephens in order to reapply for financial aid.

Even if you are certain you won’t qualify for need-based assistance, it’s a good idea to file the FAFSA so that you may be able to qualify for aid if your financial situation changes.

 

Financial Aid Checklist

To receive a financial aid package, a student must:

• Be admitted
• Have a current FAFSA on file
• Have turned in any requested documents to the Office of Financial Aid

Once all documents are received, we will package and send a financial aid offer via email.
