Finalizing Your Enrollment

You've made a great decision to apply to Stephens. We have a few recommendations to help you finalize your enrollment.

  • Step 1: If you haven't been to our campus yet, we encourage you to schedule a visit. You can arrange visit dates through our Plan a Visit page. We will tailor your visit to your interests.
  • Step 2: File your FAFSA (the Free Application for Federal Student Aid), which also serves as your application for financial aid at Stephens. We use this information to help determine the aid, grants and scholarships for which you may be eligible. You are always welcome to contact [email protected] with your questions, too. (If you are not planning to fill out a FAFSA, please let us know.) Stephens' FAFSA Code is 002512.
  • Step 3: Pay your enrollment deposit. We use your date of deposit to assign housing, for example, so you’ll want to reserve your spot now.

  • Step 4: Check out our Questions and Answers page for more tips and info!

Your Welcome Letter from Student Development

(The following letter was emailed to incoming students on July 17 and includes helpful information.)

Greetings from Stephens College!

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Stephens College! This is just the beginning of a journey filled with memories to last a lifetime. You have made an excellent decision academically and personally. During your time here, you will be supported in your efforts by exceptional faculty and staff who are completely dedicated to your success. You will be provided with a positive learning environment where your unique gifts and talents are valued. Stephens College has been educating young women for over 180 years and the rich history of the college has now become a part of your future.

I know you are excited to be arriving on campus in a few short weeks. We have been hard at work planning an exciting New Student Orientation (NSO) program. New Student Orientation will run from Friday, August 17 through Monday, August 20 and you will be very busy with activities until your classes begin. New Student Orientation will acquaint you with other members of your entering class, familiarize you with the campus and campus resources, and introduce you to your academic advisors, faculty, staff, and administrators. Activities are required of all students entering the College for the first time.  To assist you, you will have a team of Orientation Group Leaders to guide you along your way! These returning students are excited to meet you.  These students, who you will meet your first day, will be with you during Orientation to assist you with getting all of your administrative tasks done. They will be there to answer all your questions, guide you through orientation and help you transition to Stephens life.

Part of our orientation tradition is our Service Saturday.  We are proud to once again to partner with the Columbia Food Bank to give back to our community in a big way.  Throughout Orientation you will also enjoy a few fun off campus adventures/activities. Don’t worry, we built in time for you and your roommate to settle in and decorate your room. We will even have a shuttle take you into town if you need to pick up items for your room.

By now, most of you should have already received your housing assignment and you only have a few more items on your list that you can do ahead of your arrival on campus.  While most tasks can be done online prior to your arrival, remember to read all of the information carefully and bring any required documents with you when you come for Orientation. Check your email regularly for updates that the College will send to you as well as your Stephens College email account (in an effort to go paperless!).

As reminder….here are the things to complete prior to your arrival:

  1. Immunization form (required – may return via mail, email or bring to check-in--attached )
  2. Register your car:
  3. Pay for parking pass:
  4. Register for emergency notifications (RAVE):
  5. If you haven’t checked out the Stephens College Entering Class of 2018 Facebook lately….join in! Meet your future classmates in a casual forum.

The Student Development staff and members of the Stephens College community look forward to meeting you as you arrive for Orientation on Friday, August 17! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at (573) 876-7212.
