At Stephens, students studying Dance receive professional, individualized training in ballet, modern and choreography, as well as dances from around the world, as part of a creative and performing arts program with a long history of creativity and student accomplishment. Stephens College offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance.  

Program Highlights

  • Start your dance career earlier with Stephens’ three-year, two-summer B.F.A. program.
  • Perform work choreographed by resident faculty and guest artists during spring and summer Stephens College Dance Company productions, or explore your own choreography
  • Learn practical strategies needed to succeed as a professional in the world of dance.
  • Present your own choreographed works at the Senior Dance Concert and the New Works Dance Concert.
  • Learn from internationally known guest artists.

Announcing "Experience Stephens: Dance" to be held March 3, 2018 

Join us for master classes, including Ballet, Modern, Tap and Musical Theatre classes, led by celebrated Broadway artists Carol Schuberg and Darren Gibson; and for a master class in competitive dance led by Stars Athletics Dance Coach Amanda Abbe. The event includes a meet-and-greet with the Dean, faculty and students; student-led tours of campus and performing arts facilities; and opportunities to learn about admissions and financial aid. This free co-educational event is open to prospective high school and transfer students, including those interested in our undergraduate and/or certificate programs. Dance is part of the School of Creative and Performing Arts. Programs in this school include Dance, Music: Vocal Performance (formerly Vocal Arts), Musical Theatre, Theatre Arts, Theatrical Costume Design and Theatre Management. The Professional Conservatory Training Program offers training in dance for both women and men.
