We were the first to offer a distance-learning program for health information management professionals and we’re still the innovators today. We have a long tradition of providing a solid HIA education that delivers a comprehensive understanding of business administration; healthcare systems; and medical and ethical requirements so students get the credentials they need (and conveniently, too). We’re proud of our long-standing excellent exam pass rate, and we are members of AHIMA and active in the industry.
As reported through the CAHIIM Annual Program Assessment Report, for the year 2015-16, Stephens had a total of 111 students enrolled in the HIA program. Thirty-one graduates were surveyed. Of those that responded, 20 were working in healthcare, 2 in non-healthcare positions and 8 in higher education within one year after completing the program.
The Health Information Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
