Songs for a New World

Music and Lyrics by Jason Robert Brown

The first musical from Tony Award winner, Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Bridges of Madison County), is a moving collection of powerful songs which examine life, love and the choices that we make.  It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice... or take a stand... or turn around and go back.

This exquisitely crafted score is a wonderful way to bring the next generation into the theatre.

An Enemy of the People

By Arthur Miller, adapted from Henrik Ibsen

A small town has just begun to win fame and wealth through its medicinal spring waters. Dr. Stockmann, resident physician in charge, discovers that the waters are poisoned. He immediately reports this to his associates but is shocked to find that instead of being thanked, he is looked upon as a dangerous crank.  The determined doctor realizes that the honesty and idealism he has counted upon to make the truth prevail simply does not exist in the face of selfish interests.

Footloose

Music by Tom Snow; Lyrics by Dean Pitchford

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is not prepared for the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher.  When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation. The heartfelt story that emerges pins a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.  To the rockin’ rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated  score, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people while guiding them with a warm heart and open mind.
