Stephens Scholars Program: Challenge and Community

The Stephens Scholars program can help get you where you want to go. It’s an innovative, selective honors program that will challenge you with rigorous coursework while surrounding you with a supportive network of like-minded thinkers, dreamers and doers. And our experiential learning component will take you off campus, letting you explore art, history, sustainability and career options around the community. 

Stephens Scholars Program Highlights

As a Stephens Scholar, you will:

  • Take interesting 200-level honors courses that fulfill general education requirements; this year, students explored contemporary international fiction, the beauty and form of math, and a global perspectives of 20th century America
  • Learn from full-time faculty members—Fulbright Scholars and professors dedicated to advising and mentoring you
  • Belong to a supportive network of peers
  • Celebrate your love of learning with like-minded friends
  • Take field trips throughout the Columbia area
  • Benefit from guest speakers
  • Be eligible for special endowed scholarships covering your sophomore, junior and senior years
  • Receive special recognition at a pinning ceremony and at Commencement 

The program is open to students who have at least a 3.5 GPA and an ACT composite of 25 or higher (or SAT 1700 composite or higher).
