Adam Samson comes to Stephens College from Missouri State University where, as a graduate student, he worked in athletics communication.
Samson chose to work at Stephens for a number of reasons.
“I know a lot about the NAIA, and I knew Stephens was a part of that,” he said. “I also liked the small college atmosphere and the challenges facing a small college.”
He plans on overcoming those challenges through social media. The route he plans to take with social media is live video stream of home matches, and in turn, he will pitch these stories to the local media outlets.
As sports information director, Samson is already training staff to work under him. He has recruited students from the sports management program at the University of Missouri as student assistants. His goal, as it pertains to the students, is to pass on the knowledge he learned as an intern and a graduate assistant.
Samson’s overall goal for the Stephens College athletics department is to bring Stephens athletics from the student population to the community. He hopes his efforts in improving Stephens’ sports information will tell the Stephens College story.
