The fitness center is up and running, and so are the students. The gym moved from its previous location at Hillcrest Hall to Stamper Commons in the Student Union, with some much needed additions.
The updated equipment includes exercise bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, fitness balls, free weights and flat screen TVs for entertainment. Finally, some cable to take a break from the real world for an hour or so.
While the gym is smaller than last year, it is not as crowded and there is certainly no wait for any of the machines. “I like to run outside and go to the gym to use the free weights and fitness balls to finish my workout,” senior Morgan Cavcey said. Cavcey likes the new facility, but thinks it could use a few more treadmills.
So put on some work out clothes, grab a few friends and see for yourself! The gym is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. so that every student has the opportunity to fit a solid workout into their schedules. Be on the lookout for the official grand opening of the fitness center in the next few weeks.
