In a college filled with women, men on security is great, but when a woman is locked out of her dorm after taking a shower, it makes sense to have a female on the security staff as well.
Crystal Meyer is the new female security guard on Stephens campus. She is from Columbia, Missouri and says that even though it is a smaller city, she loves the town. Meyer says it is a great place to raise her five year old son, Christian.
“He keeps me on my toes and gives me something to work for,” she said.
Just like any other woman, Meyer enjoys shopping, mainly for purses and shoes. One of her favorite brands is Adidas which explains her passion for hitting the gym at every opportunity she can.
Meyer has only been on campus for three weeks, but has big ideas on how she can change things. She does not just want to be another security staff member, but wants to be a friend to the students on campus. In fact, Meyer explained that the students are polite and respectful which makes her want to come to work every day.
Meyer has been inspired since starting work on a college campus. Her goal is to finish her associated business degree. She has looked into programs at Stephens and is thinking about studying integrated marketing.
Working Friday through Monday, Crystal Meyer is someone the Stephens students can call no matter what situation they are in.
