You might have noticed I was absent last week—not only from the office for a couple of days but completely away from my blogging tasks.
Some advice for anyone who’s thinking about pursuing an online master’s degree—if you have a blog, post a note on it “Gone to graduate school. Will be back in two years.” Because in between work and coursework and those little pesky obstacles that come up in your personal life, blogging will take a back seat.
One thing I’ve heard from alumnae of our graduate programs is how they were able to use their lessons immediately in their workplace and lives. I’m finding that to be the case, as well, from my Business 500 course. I’m definitely more aware of myself.
And last week’s assignment, to give an online video presentation came at a great time—a few days later I was delivering comments as part of a panel at a conference. I was aware of my non-verbal expressions, careful to minimize any “ummmms…” (although there were a few, I’m sure) and was surprisingly calm thanks, in part, to getting some practice earlier in the week.
After this week, I’ll be halfway through my online adventures. Until then, I apologize in advance for not keeping this blog as up to date as possible.
