Our students are all over the world this summer.
Seriously. They’re working in New York, Chicago, South Africa, Thailand, the British Virgin Islands.
And these are students who haven’t even graduated yet!
Stephens is known for having an amazing internship program. Our staff are committed to helping them find so many prestigious internships. You can see a sampling on this new page we created (I designed and the amazingly talented Stacey Franks, our web guru, made it come alive – literally!).
But don’t just take my word for it. A lot of these students are documenting their experiences on their own blogs.
I love this story from Terra Carlson’s blog about working at Victoria’s Secret corporate office. It really captures the essence of being a “Stephens woman.” (“Always curious” comes to mind for my regular readers.) So Terra got a few free minutes and instead of checking Facebook, she wandered around the office to get a feel for other departments. She ran into a marketing specialist who invited her to schedule a time to sit down and talk about business and life in general. What an amazing connection Terra made just by being a little curious!
Emily Colette’s first day of work in Thailand involved setting up lighting for the film crew she’s working with to create a documentary on elephant sanctuaries.
And Christie Lee has been working and blogging from the British Virgin Islands where she’s helping Sail Caribbean maintain its web and social media presence. I mean, c’mon. Second only to my job, that sounds like the coolest gig ever.
And I’ve told you about Kristen McCurdy’s summer in South Africa where she’s chasing cheetahs, filming honey badgers, feeding baby baboons and hanging out with rhino calves and lion cubs. Check out her blog—her photos are really amazing.
So I encourage you to add these blogs to your regular daily web stops and follow these students’ adventures. It sounds like they’re all on an amazing ride—and I’m so happy they’re letting us ride along vicariously!
