So for the past few weeks, I’ve been driving around Columbia thinking “Man, this year’s Art in the Park logo is really clever!”
No wonder! Today I found out one of our recent graduates, Stacey Silman, designed it!
If you live in Columbia, you’ll no doubt recognize it, but here it is as it will appear on the Art in the Park T-shirt you can buy at this weekend’s event at Stephen Lake Park:
And here’s the talented Stacey, who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design and Product Development earlier this month:
I don’t make it to Art in the Park every year, but the times I have ventured out, it’s been really fun. The event, as you probably know, features artists from around the region. This year, I hear there will be all sorts of yummy eats, too, including Jamaican Jerk meats, D Dee’s Kettlecorn and Sunflower chicken waffles. The latter? Fried chicken wrapped in waffles (I looked it up for you. You can read more about the company and it’s unique signature treat in this edition of the Tribune’s Street Talk.)
So grab your umbrella and head to the park this weekend. Oh, and don’t forget to bring 10 bucks for the T-shirt.
