Presenting: Vincent on the Quad

It’s true we have some certificate-seeking men on campus pursuing theatre and dance.

But other than my esteemed colleague Corey and Isaac, the numbers guy down the hall, I don’t see men much during the day.

Especially guys busting a move on the Quad.

So when one of our dance students decided to get his groove on in Journey Plaza, we ladies in Lela Raney Wood were all aflutter.

“There’s a man,” Summer from Philanthropy said, rushing into the marketing suite, “dancing on the quad. He’s been dancing for like 20 minutes.”

“I got video,” Lise, our student intern, offered.

Apparently, she saw a group of ladies gathered at the window watching him and thought to grab her camera phone.

Still having, like, a drop of reporter in me (hey, this was news) I grabbed my notebook and headed out.

Turns out Vincent Downton just started at Stephens in January and has been dying for warm weather so he could show campus what he’s got.

He’s totally got some Michael Jackson moves, but Vincent told me it’s a Korean dance style known as K-Pop. But don’t feel badly, he said, because Michael Jackson does, indeed, influence modern Korean dance.

Without further ado (and thanks to Lise’s good news judgment), may I present “Vincent on the Quad as seen from the third floor of Lela Raney Wood.”
