Event Spaces at Stephens

With its elegant spaces, convenient location and event planning excellence, Stephens College is fast becoming the premier choice for events in Columbia. Our staff is dedicated to making sure each event is perfect and that no detail is overlooked. From the early planning stages to the day of the event, we make sure you and your guests have a memorable and enjoyable time.

Stephens College is well equipped to assist you with your event and catering needs. The oldest women’s college west of the Mississippi, the Stephens campus is located on 86 acres in Columbia, Missouri, and is readily accessible from Interstate 70 or U.S. Highway 63.

Rich in history, the buildings on the Stephens campus range from ivy-covered Georgian to solar-powered modern. These buildings house a wide a variety of facilities and dot a beautifully landscaped, tree-covered campus.

Buildings are located within two blocks of each other with free parking in close proximity, and is located adjacent to downtown Columbia.

Audio Visual
Stephens College can provide you with just about any audio visual equipment you may need to make your event complete. We have everything from microphones to laptops and LCD projectors.Use of some of the equipment may incur a small fee.

Catering
The culinary team at Stephens College is comprised of a multitude of creative and talented individuals. With years of experience and specialized training, they will provide you with an unforgettable menu that far exceeds your expectations. Led by an executive chef who trained at the Rhode Island School of Design, our catering would please even the most discriminating epicuriean! Our catering staff works with you to create a menu that suits your taste and budget. Menus may center on any style of reception, including buffets, cocktails and food displays, or seated dinners with several courses. Off-site catering is also available. Please note we do not charge sales tax or accept gratuities.

Kimball Ballroom
The Kimball Ballroom in Lela Raney Wood Hall re-opened in April 2006, after being renovated to its original 1930s splendor. With breathtaking hardwood floors and original chandeliers, the ballroom will hold up to 300 guests in a sit-down situation or up to 400 for alternative set-ups.

Firestone Baars Chapel
There is hardly a more unique site in Columbia than the Firestone-Baars Chapel. Designed by St. Louis Gateway Arch architect Eero Saarinen, the elegant yet minimalistic chapel features an Aeolian-Skinner organ and breathtaking stained glass. The Chapel will hold up to 290 guests.

Historic Senior Hall
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Historic Senior Hall is the oldest building on the Stephens campus, dating back to 1841. Renovated in 1990, this elegant building offers a lovely recital hall and adjoining 19 th century antique parlors. The recital hall features a hardwood stage and grand piano. This is a charming and unique space for receptions the will hold up to 100 guests in a sit-down situation or up to 150 guests for alternative set-ups.

Beautifully appointed traditional board room with seating for 25.

Visitors Center
Stephens' updated Visitors Center boasts rooms and suites to accommodate guests for overnight stays.

Available rooms with private bath:

1 suite with 2 twins and full sleeper sofa
1 suite with a king and full sleeper sofa

Amenities include a flat-screen TV with cable, free wireless Internet access, a coffeemaker and mini refrigerator, a hair dryer and a full-size ironing board and iron.

Windsor Auditorium
A traditional auditorium with a hardwood stage and grand piano. This space features seating of up to 335 and has an adjacent foyer perfect for mingling or networking.

Other Spaces at Stephens College
* Silverthorne Arena features a spectacular Maple floor and can be used for athletic events or social gatherings up to 500 people.

* Stephens College has several classrooms and multimedia rooms available for use for up to 120 people.
