American Graduate Fellowships

American Institute for Economic Research

Carroll & Milton Petrie New York City Teacher Fellowship Program

-Supports 20 recent college graduates as they pursue master's degrees at Teachers College and prepare for careers as New York City K-12 teachers

-Each year awards are made to 10 Petrie Fellows and 10 Petrie Finalists

-As part of their reward, Petrie Fellos will commit to teaching in New York City's Public Schools for at least five years after graduating from the college and Finalists will commit to teaching for at least one year

MU Teaching Fellowship Program

-Rigorous graduate program offered by the College of Education and the MU Partnership for Educational Renewal (MPER)

-Graduate coursework and on-site mentoring encourage Fellows to assess their teaching, reflect as they implement strategies, and develop skills allowing them to learn continuously from practice.

-During the fellowship year, Fellows are employees of the University of Missouri-Columbia.  They receive approximately $12,000 paid throughout the fellowship year from August through July, as well as tuition assistance for up to 33 hours of graduate credit.  Fellows are responsible for their student fees and textbooks

Wellstone Fellowship for Social Justice

-Goals are to address disparities in access to health care,

-To inspire Wellstone Fellows to continue to work for social justice throughout their lives,

-And to increase the number of racial and ethnic diversity of up-and-coming social justice advocates and leaders.

-Families USA will select one talented and motivated candidate to fill this 12-month fellowship

-Primary responsiblities include assisting in organization of trainings for community leaders and journalist;

-Drafting policy briefs, fact sheets, and other publications;

-And developing content for the minority health pages of the Families USA Web site and for the departments monthly e-newsletter.
