Construction is now complete on the Joan Bing Kirke Rehearsal
Hall at Okoboji Summer Theatre in Spirit Lake, Iowa. The new rehearsal hall
was funded by Joan Bing Kirke ’63 and her husband, Gary. The hall’s
exterior is clad in a horizontal siding that resembles the finish of the
original airplane hangar, which later became the theatre. The hall as well
as other renovation projects—including an upgraded patio and entry
in front of the theatre, provided by Anne Thorne Weaver, a long-time resident
of Okoboji and Omaha; and a renovated Green Room, provided by Frances Shloss
of Okoboji and Beverly Hills, Calif.— were completed in Summer 2008.
