With your support, over the next several years…
We plan to replace housing for our students and staff in several phases. This summer, we’re home to 47 students – the largest number in our history. With a growing number of students, our space limits the number of professionals we can bring in this summer to work beside, train and network with our students – the very heart of our program. Future OST classes will continue to grow as Stephens’ student body continues to increase. We seek to renovate and replace existing housing with a design of lake-living-style quarters consistent with the character of our surrounding community. Housing upgrades also will alleviate the need to cram four students in tiny dorm rooms and improve our neighborly appearance by removing old and rusty trailers.

We plan to establish a centralized production complex to improve the efficiency of our technical theatre operation and allow for better artistic collaboration. We will update and expand the scene shop, costume shop and prop barn in close proximity to – and on the same level as – the theatre. As we quickly move from one production to the next, this centralized operation will allow artists and technicians to work together to strengthen our productions and artistic integrity.

We plan to build a second new rehearsal hall on the site of the old Hog House. With the addition of the Kirke Rehearsal Hall, we have realized that dreams do come true. A second rehearsal hall for the concurrently rehearsing production would bring an even higher level of professionalism into our operations.
