Join Stephens College faculty Laura Flacks-Narrol, assistant business and marketing professor and winner of the 2013 Distinguished Advising Award; Tina Parke-Sutherland, English/Creative Writing professor and poet; and Monica McMurry, dean of the School of Fashion and Design for a panel discussion of this year's One Read novel moderated by President Dianne Lynch. Flacks-Narrol, who has traveled through the Middle East, will discuss Mariam's use of an anonymous blog. Parke-Sutherland, who teaches about women in Islamic cultures, will talk about female identity as Rosalie goes from "wife" to "first wife." McMurry will discuss expression through fashion including Rosalie's embroidered abayas and Mariam's eggplant-colored abaya. Refreshments will be served beginning at 6:30.
