Tricksters: Tales from the Teepee June 20-23
Listen to the heartbeat of distant drums, sit in the teepee of the people and listen to tales about the smartest and craftiest subjects of Native American lore, the TRICKSTERS! Coyote, Rabbit, Turtle and Spider to name a few, we will meet them all in this woven web of wonderful stories passed down from ancient times. Parables, metaphors, dance, drums, and just plain fun await the entire family with tales from the coasts, southwest, forests and plains tribes… but watch out for mischief!
Hansel and Gretel July 4-7
Come children, come one, come all to the gingerbread house in the middle of a dark wood… A wonderfully rhythmic and visually stunning way to retell this classic, this show is sure to have you riveted as we watch Gretel conquer her fears as she tries to save her brother from the evil witch. Poetry, distinctive sounds and visual aids mix in rare form to bring you one of our oldest—and possibly darkest—fairy tales!
Sloppy Jo’s Story: A Musical Mess July 18-21
This is an adventure of the messiest kind! Monumentally Sloppy Jo faces a dreamlike intervention like you’ve never seen from the most unlikely characters. Rotten Banana, Broken Hip Barbie, and a disgruntled “Jackie” in the box, are just a few of the characters you’ll find in this psycho-silly journey to find a purpose, a reason to carry on and a whole bunch of reasons to clean your room! Be a kid—AGAIN—and enjoy this musical, delightful, and sometimes delectably (but kid-appropriate) gross romp through a mountain of fun!
Kung-Fu Kitty August 1-4
Everybody is kung fu fighting like cats and dogs in this hilarious, action-packed slapstick comedy. Fur (and puns) fly when feisty kitten Princess escapes the clutches of the sinister, catnapping Ting Tang and his hysterical henchcats, then comes under the protection of a mongrel martial arts master and his clumsy canine companions. Princess faces her fears to defeat (and declaw) her adversary by way of cool stage combat moves and a little help from her friends. You’re bound to have a purrrfectly awesome time with this stage combat-filled thriller!
