STEPHENS COLLEGE BRIDGE SPAN REPLACEMENT PROJECT
TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Stephens College will replace its two bridge spans across College Avenue and Broadway – both located near the College and Broadway intersection – starting Monday, July 9.
The project will last approximately one month, and during this time access to the spans will not be available. Sidewalks under the bridges will be closed during portions of the project. Pedestrians, cyclists and those in wheelchairs should be cautious when crossing at street level and use the available crosswalks. The contractor, APAC, will post pedestrian detour signs; it is strongly encouraged those routes be followed.
Lane closure work will be done between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. to minimize traffic disruption. Any work requiring a 15-minute closure of Broadway or College will be done between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Flaggers will control traffic through the intersection.
