STEPHENS COLLEGE ANNOUNCES JOHN WESTON
AS NEW HEAD GOLF COACH
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Stephens College announces John Weston as the new head golf coach, effective Sept. 1, 2012. Weston, the founder and president of the Columbia Golf Foundation, takes the helm of the College’s golf team in its second season of competition after more than two decades.
Weston, a native of Neosho, Mo., attended the University of Missouri-Columbia in the 1970s on a golf scholarship and has continued to play competitively. In 2005, he won the Missouri Senior Amateur, and was named the Missouri Senior Player of the Year. Weston previously worked as the golf course superintendent of the Columbia Country Club, which is Stephens’ home course.
A member of the American Midwest Conference (AMC) in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Stephens participates in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. Athletic scholarships are available. Learn more: www.stephens.edu/athletics
