GRADUATE AND ONLINE PROGRAMS RE-LAUNCH
COMMUNITY CONNECTION GRANT FOR BOONE AND NOW COLE COUNTIES
Access to professional education made easier for local working adults

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Working adults living in either Boone or Cole counties will now have more affordable access to Stephens College’s graduate and online programs with the launch of the Community Connection Grant. When it was last offered, the grant was available only to individuals who lived or worked in Boone County.

The Community Connection Grant offers prospective students a substantial reduction in tuition when enrolling in one of the many degree programs offered through the graduate and online programs at Stephens College. New students for Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 will see an overall tuition decrease of more than $1,600 over the course of their degree program. Fall 2012 classes begin on Monday, Aug. 20, and the last day to enroll is Monday, Aug. 13.

“We value our roots at Stephens College and want to extend the opportunity for education to our supportive community,” said Dr. Annette Digby, Vice President for Academic Affairs. “Education is central to creating and maintaining a vital local community. As the name implies, the Community Connection Grant has a two-fold purpose:  to expand community connections by providing financial assistance to working adults enrolled in one of our graduate and online programs. Stephens is, therefore, pleased that we can offer additional educational opportunities to members of our community.”

Stephens College remains the second-oldest women’s college in the country, but accepts both men and women into the various graduate and online course offerings. Students may earn a traditional Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master in Strategic Leadership (MSL), a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in either Counseling or Curriculum and Instruction, or a B.S. in Health Information Administration (HIA). Stephens’ graduate business programs were named a “Best Buy” by GetEducated.com and offer flexibility for today’s working adult. Learn more at www.stephens.edu/gcs.
