COLUMBIA, Mo. – Stephens College will install two new bridge spans across College Avenue and Broadway – both located near the College and Broadway intersection – tonight, starting at 8 p.m. The old spans were removed on July 9. 

Lanes will be closed between approximately 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. to minimize traffic disruption.

Access to the spans is anticipated to be available once the guardrails are installed, which could happen as early as next week.

In the meantime, sidewalks under the bridges will be closed during portions of the project. Pedestrians, cyclists and those in wheelchairs should be cautious when crossing at street level and use the available crosswalks. The contractor, APAC, has posted pedestrian detour signs; it is strongly encouraged those routes be followed.
