STEPHENS COLLEGE ANNOUNCES
2010-2011 DAVIS ART GALLERY SCHEDULE

COLUMBIA, Mo.—Stephens College announces the 2010-2011 Davis Art Gallery schedule. The gallery, located at the corner of Walnut and Ripley streets, is open to the public from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday or by appointment. Admission is free. The following exhibits will be shown:

Vital Threads
Aug. 27-Oct.14, 2010
Opening reception: 4-6 p.m., Aug. 27
A two-person exhibition featuring contemporary art quilts and silk paintings by Sedalia artist Annie Helmericks-Louder and Springfield artist Pam Kanagawa-RuBert.

Outside of Walls
Oct. 22-Dec. 10, 2010
Opening reception: 4-6 p.m., Oct. 22
Douglass Freed and John Louder pair together to feature their unique perspectives on the landscape painting genre.

Neo-Geo
Jan. 14-Feb. 17, 2011
Opening reception: 4-6 p.m., Jan.14
Anne Thompson, Wayne Leal, Michael Bauermeister and Cole Scego utilize geometry as a mode of expression and form in their diverse artworks. “Neo-Geo” will feature paintings, mixed-media constructions, wood sculptures and steel furniture.

Flesh, Felt and Fiber
 Feb. 25-March 24, 2011
Opening reception: 4-6 p.m., Feb. 25
A multimedia exhibition that showcases a variety of fiber arts as well as some unique visual collaborations between paintings and fiber pieces. “Flesh, Felt and Fiber” will include artists including Suza Wooldridge, Jane Mudd and Sharon Kilfoyle.

Senior Capstone and Graphic Arts Portfolio Show
April 8-May 5, 2011

Opening reception: 4-6 p.m., April 8: Closing reception: 4-5 p.m., May 7
A capstone exhibition featuring the works of graduating seniors in the School of Design and Fashion.
