STEPHENS COLLEGE TO HOST
2010 SUMMER RIDING PROGRAM
COLUMBIA, Mo.— The Stephens College Equestrian Studies department announces the 2010 Stephens Summer Riding Program, which will be held at the Stephens College Stables, 201 Old Hwy. 63 N. Since the 1940s, the popular program has taught interested participants the basics of riding, horse care and safety. The program is open to children (age 8 and up) and adults at all riding levels. Classes in Huntseat, Western and Beginning Riding are taught by Stephens College students with extensive teaching experience.
Session Dates:
Session I: June 14-25, 2010
Beginning Riding: M-F, 5-7 p.m.
Huntseat: M-F, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Western: M-F, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Session II: June 28-July 2, 2010
Child Morning Camp: M-F, 8 a.m.-noon
Adult Evening Camp: M-F, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Session III: July 12-16, 2010
Child Morning Camp: M-F, 8 a.m.-noon
Adult Evening Camp: M-F, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Session IV: July 19-30, 2010
Beginning Riding (Morning) M-F, 8:30-10 a.m.
Beginning Riding (Evening) M-F, 5-7 p.m.
Huntseat M-F, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Western M-F, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Media are welcome to observe the riding sessions. When arriving at the Stephens Stables, all visitors including reporters/photographers are required to check in at the office.
The College’s riding program began in 1925 and occupies 16 acres on the Stephens campus, offering an indoor arena, a lighted outdoor arena, seven turn-out paddocks, stables and a cross-country course. The program boards approximately 40 horses.
