Stephens College To Host Women of TRAMA Textiles
Columbia, MO – Stephens College is proud to host Oralia Chopin and Amparo de Rubio of TRAMA Textiles of Guatemala Monday, March 22- Friday, March 26.
TRAMA Textiles is a 100% worker-owned women’s weaving association made up of 400 back strap loom weavers in the western highlands of Guatemala. The association offers quality products that ensure fair wages to the artisans.

Backstrap Loom Weaving Demonstration
Time: Monday, March 22, 6-7 p.m.
Location: Windsor Lounge in Stamper Commons, 1300 E. Broadway
Lecture on Empowering Women through Weaving: the Story of
TRAMA Textiles in Guatemala
Time: Tuesday, March 23, 7-8 p.m.
Location: Historic Senior Hall Recital Hall, 100 Waugh St.
CAT TV Interview with Oralia and Amparo, with live studio audience
Time: Thursday, March 25, 3-4 p.m.
Location: CAT TV Studio B, below Windsor Auditorium, 1405 E. Broadway
TRAMA Textile weavings will be available for purchase at each of these events, as well as throughout the week in Columbia Foyer, in the Helis Communication Center, 1405 E. Broadway.
